Food Allergy and Substance Abuse

A food allergy is an abnormal immune response to food. The symptoms of the allergic reaction may range from mild to severe. Food allergies can cause serious and even deadly reactions. So it's important to know how to recognize an allergic reaction and to be prepared if one happens.

Substance abuse refers to the harmful or hazardous use of psychoactive substances, including alcohol and illicit drugs. Psychoactive substance use can lead to dependence syndrome a cluster of behavioural, cognitive and physiological phenomena.
