Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia, and Binge Eating Disorders

Eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder (BED) significantly impact physical and mental health. This session explores the etiology, risk factors, and neurological mechanisms underlying these disorders. Experts will discuss diagnostic challenges, medical complications, and psychological interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). The session will also highlight the role of genetics, gut microbiota, and metabolic disruptions in eating disorders. Strategies for early detection, prevention, and multidisciplinary treatment approaches will be covered to improve long-term patient outcomes.
